The team of student writers, editors, photographers and designers behind The Blank Generation belongs to the Nevada Media Alliance at the Donald W. Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno. The students wanted to create a project that would serve their community by telling important stories about its members. They decided to tell the stories of a diverse group of young people preparing to enter the work force, and the challenges that they -- and many like them -- may face. The students hope this project will serve as an illustration of what it means to be a young person considering an uncertain future in a typical American city divided by income, education, and opportunity. The Nevada Media Alliance is a student-produced initiative of the Reynolds School, in partnership with KUNR, KNPB and the Reno Gazette-Journal. Support for the Nevada Media Alliance has been generously provided by the Hearst Foundations, the Charles H. Stout Foundation, and the E.L. Cord Foundation.
